New Zealand hand massive defeat to Pakistan in third ODI, win series


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: New Zealand handed a massive defeat to Pakistan by 183 runs in the third match of the five-match ODI series in Dunedin on Saturday.

New Zealand decided to bat first after winning the toss and scored 257 runs in the allotted overs. Captain Kane Williamson was top scorer with 73 runs, while Ross Taylor scored 52 runs. Romman Raees and Hasan Ali took two wickets each, Shadab Khan took two wickets and Faheem Ashraf took one wicket.

Pakistan's batting was disappointing once against and all the team were out on 74 runs, losing the match and the series as well. Romman Raees, who came on no 11, was top scorer with 16 runs, which summed up the pathetic batting of Pakistan.

Trent Boult was the pick of bowlers who took five wickets. He was declared man of the match.

The next match of the series will be played on 16 January in Hamilton.
