Pact signed to supply over 500 buses to Sudan state


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti has met Khalid Mohammed Khair, Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation for the State of Khartoum in Sudan.
The meeting also witnessed a business agreement between the State of Khartoum and Mowasalat (Karwa) for supplying 505 buses from Karwa to Sudan, Qatar's Ministry of Transport and Communications has said in a
statement.
The meeting came as part of the implementation of a memorandum of understanding signed between Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani Qatar) and Port Sudan to develop the port of Suakin on the Red Sea, making it a key seaport for cargo transportation, the statement noted.
The meeting discussed the commencement of concrete discussions and development works at the port, which is considered key to the development of the Port Sudan area. The meeting also discussed the issuance of directives to the works team to complete the necessary studies in the shortest possible time.
It was decided that the partnership would be granted a concession in the free economic zone, thereby serving mutual investments.
Besides, the two officials discussed co-operation ties and mutual relations between the brotherly countries in the fields of mobility and transportation.
