Amman, Dec. 7 (Petra)- Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Atef Tarawneh, on Thursday sent letters to his Arab and Muslim counterparts on the grave ramifications of the U.S. administration's decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem and to recognize this holy city as the capital of Israel.

He urged the concerned Arab and Muslim parliamentary chambers to hold emergency talks to reach a firm, unanimous stance to counter the U.S. step.

He warned of the U.S. move's diverse repercussions on the region, its direct consequences on igniting sentiments of Muslims and Christians alike, and its negative impact on efforts aimed to reach just and comprehensive peace in the Middle east, based on the relevant international legitimacy resolutions, with eye to the ones on Jerusalem.
