Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada inaugurated the third edition of the Made in China exhibition yesterday, where more than 80 companies from china displayed latest products.
The Minister said the third edition of the exhibition is seeing participation of more companies from various sectors, which reflects the advancement of ties between Qatar and China in many fields. Such exhibitions play crucial role in enhancing bilateral trade and economic ties.
The four-day exhibition is taking place Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
He added that the expo is showcasing China's latest in terms of construction equipment and technological capabilities demanded by the Qatari market. He said the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center has become the home of many international exhibitions, continuing the Qatar's tradition of being an attractive location for global companies and activities in the industrial as well as in other sectors.
Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani said that the participation of more than 80 Chinese companies reflects their confidence in the Qatari market despite the unfair siege imposed on Qatar by blockading countries.
He said that the exhibition provides Qatari companies with the opportunity of seeing latest innovations and technologies in China, which can help them to establishing new industries in Qatar. The exhibition could be an opportunity for companies from both countries to form alliances that enhance the role of the Qatari private sector. He added that the previous two editions of the exhibitions were very successful and saw many alliances formed that eventually benefited the Qatari economy.
Li Chen, Ambassador of China in Qatar said that Qatar was developing rapidly in all fields, and that economic cooperation between Qatar and China have seen a marked pick up. The last few months have recorded a significant increase in trading volume, rising 30 percent compared to previous levels. Trade volumes in the first nine months of 2017 have surpassed the $5bn mark. He added that China welcomes Qatari businessmen to invest in its market, expressing hope that the exhibition will yield partnerships and agreements that advances the interests of both sides.
Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Director-General of Qatar Chamber highlighted the high attendance level, especially from business people who were looking to take advantage of China's expertise in the industrial sector by signing trade agreement. He said that the event is expected to witness the signing of a number of agreements in the coming days. He stressed that Chinese industrial companies are looking to market their products in the Qatari market.
