Government bought 370,000 tons of rice
(MENAFN) According to the agriculture ministry, in order to maintain stable market prices, the government is buying about 370,000 tons of rice produced this year.
It said local government was informed of Seoul intentions to "isolate" this year's rice, and of other details concerning the purchase.
The Ministry of Agriculture in addition to Food and Rural Affairs will reserve another 350,000 tons of rice to be the emergency storage of the country.
The purchased rice will only be put in markets if any surprising developments and sudden supply problems occur.
