BOK governor, finance minister vow to stabilize financial markets

(MENAFN) Bank of S. Korea's governor and Finance Minister said they will take measures to stabilize financial markets amid tensions between North Korea and the United States.

BOK Gov. Lee Ju-yeol said: "The government and the Bank of Korea plan to make aggressive efforts to stabilize financial markets by closely monitoring domestic and foreign financial market."

However, the two officials declined to elaborate possible measures might be taken.

While N. Korea announced it will launch a ballistic missile toward the US Pacific territory of Guam, US President said in response that U.S. military is "locked and loaded" to deal with North Korea's provocations.
