Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan will pay USD148mln to end lawsuit
(MENAFN) Deutsche Bank AG and JPMorgan Chase & Co agreed to pay a combined USD148mln to end private U.S. antitrust litigation claiming they collaborated with other banks to use the yen Libor and Euroyen Tibor benchmark interest rates.
Settlements totaled at USD77mln for Deutsche Bank and USD71mln for JPMorgan were detailed in filings in the US District Court in Manhattan.
Also, preliminary settlemnts followed similar settlemnts last year with CitiGroup Inc. and HSBC Holdings Plc totaled USD23mln and USD35mln.
Moreover, investors accused banks of conspiring to rig yen Libor, Euroyen Tibor and Euroyen Tibor futures contracts.
