She then completed a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology from the Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California, prior to earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology, also from the Fielding Graduate University.

Dr. Doss is a Certified Gottman Method Couples' Therapist, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. She is also an experienced teacher of counseling and psychology. She has been a faculty member of the University of Phoenix for 25 years. Dr. Doss has also taught at Glendale Community College and Arizona State University-West.
