Japan posts 5pct jump in machinery orders over March


(MENAFN) Japan's core machinery orders surged 5.5 percent in March from a month earlier on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to the latest data.

Consequently, machinery orders throughout the cited period totaled USD8.12, with the orders excluding volatile ones including ships and from utilities.

With machinery orders being a key advance indicator for corporate capital spending, analysts are now eyeing the central bank's reaction to the latest machinery order data.

The types of machinery comprise engines and turbines, heavy electrical machinery, industrial machinery, machine tools, railway rolling stock and road vehicles, among others.
