Lockheed Martin plans to slash 1k of staff


(MENAFN) In a move mainly driven by its goal to stay competitive and maintain its staff aligned with orders, US Lockheed Martin's aeronautics division will lay off a total of 1000 employees.

The firm is offering the voluntary program to mid-level workers in seven locations including Fort Worth in Texas, Marietta in Georgia, Palmdale in California and Clarksburg in West Virginia.

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company's most vital project by far is the F-35 Lightning II (JSF), which is worth nearly USD200bn, AND the initial order book is approximately 3,000.

Moreover, Martin Aeronautics' parent firm, Lockheed Martin, is an American global aerospace, defense, security and advanced technologies company with worldwide interests.
