French inflation posts 0.4 percent fall in Sept
(MENAFN) French inflation witnessed a 0.4 percent decline over the month of September on the back of a decrease in service and energy costs, according to recent reports.
Moreover, the consumer prices index (CPI), climbed 0.3 percent in August y-o-y, indicating a steady rate of inflation, According to data released from the Paris-based statistic office.
Meanwhile, according to Insee figures, energy prices dropped 1 percent, which was mainly driven by a new slump in petroleum product prices for four consecutive months.
"In September, the main contributors to the decrease in the CPI came from a seasonal downturn in some services related to tourism after the school holiday period," Insee said in its monthly economic report.
