(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Syrian Air Force committed a new massacre by attacking residential areas to the southern governorate of Daraa on Tuesday.

The attack killed 16 civilians, including 13 children and a woman and wounded dozens of others, many of whom are in critical conditions, in Eastern Ghariyah town, according to a night update by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

The airstrike targeted a Quran teaching center in the town, SOHR said, expecting the death toll to rise further.

The regular troops bombarded Eastern Ghariyah, Western Ghariyah and Al-Yadudah but no reports on casualties emerged so far.

Several parts of Damascus were hit by a total of 20 shells that injured 11 persons.

Meanwhile, three fighters of the Islamist opposition groups were killed in clashes with the regular troops and pro-regime militias on the rural outskirts of the southwestern city of Quneitra.

The opposition Free Syrian Army captured Telal Al-Homr area on the northern rural outskirts of Quneitra governorate as part of the FSA drive to break the regime's siege on Jabal Al-Sheikh town, according to the Syria Mubasher news network (SLN).
