French car sales dip for 2nd month in November

(MENAFN) French car sales fell for the second month in November as the country lags a broader European auto-market recovery, while sales rose in Spain and Italy, Gulf News reported.

Car sales declined 2.3 percent over a year to 135,070 vehicles last month amid signs of weakening consumer confidence, the CCFA industry association said and warned demand would remain weak in 2015.

French car registrations had also fallen by 3.8 percent in October as consumers avoid big-ticket purchases. The October-November slide cut the year-to-date auto market growth to 1.1 percent, the CCFA said.

In Spain, however, new car sales rose 17.4 percent in November, marking the 15th consecutive month of growth on an ongoing purchasing subsidy program, car manufacturers' association Anfac said.
