BSI Introduces New Supply Chain Solutions to the Middle East

(MENAFNEditorial) Manage and mitigate risk in supply chain activities with BSI's market leading solutions and applications.

Dubai, UAE – October 2014 – Today's supply chains are complicated. Companies find it hard to gain visibility into their suppliers' processes and standards. Some organizations operating in high risk countries do face daily threats to theft, terrorism, smuggling, natural disaster and product safety in their supply chain.

In response, BSI, the business standards company, introduces a range of supply chain security tools and a network of experts to help evaluate the overall supply chain risk as well as the potential risks that specific suppliers may face.

The new Supply Chain Solutions was developed to address the abovementioned concerns by helping companies proactively identify and manage risk amongst their suppliers, provide on-site verification and qualification of their suppliers. Here are the three tools used:

• SCREEN (Supply Chain Risk Exposure Evaluation Network) Intelligence Tool – it identifies and understands the company's supply chain. It can create and sustain a global risk-based supply chain security program.
• Supplier Compliance Manager (SCM) – it efficiently tracks and assesses supply chain risk and compliance
• BSI Verifeye- it enhances corporate visibility into supplier operations through on-site auditing

The solution goes beyond box-ticking by imbuing supplier assessments with rich country risk information and weighting, based on the importance of each business partner, giving companies a live view of hazards in their supply chains.

It gives companies a risk-based methodology to determine where the highest risk and lowest compliant suppliers are within a supply chain. This practice leads to standardization of how risk is perceived internally by various stakeholders, which can often be a difficult task to achieve.

Additionally, the solutions automate the entire process of risk assessment by eliminating the need to conduct manual tasks such as searching on the internet for country risk assessments, or calculating compliance and risk through excel spreadsheets. All of these manual processes are automated through our software tools.
