Gas Explosion in Germany Kills Excavation Worker

(MENAFN- QNA) - A gas explosion in Germany killed an excavation worker and injured 10 people on Thursday.

The blast also gutted multiple parked cars.

Police in the western industrial city of Ludwigshafen said the cause was still being sought. Gascade, a gas pipeline company, said workers were digging down to a buried gas-line near apartment blocks at the time, reported German Press Agency dpa.

The site is near a factory estate operated by BASF, the world's largest chemical company, which has its headquarters in the city.
