Tanzanian panel to study Oman's economic zones
During its visit which extends to September 11 the Tanzanian delegation will review the sultanate's experience in the field of developing economic zones and investment projects in a number of Oman's ports a press release said.
H E Jabri told the delegation that Sezad's endeavours at attracting foreign investments come within efforts made to diversify sources of the national economy and ensure equitable development of the sultanate by creating job opportunities for Al Wusta residents.
He highlighted the competitive edge of Sezad the biggest special economic zone in the MENA region and the scores of incentives provided to investors. 'While the government has already started building the infrastructure and other requirements for the growth of the zone it encourages local and foreign investors to venture into different projects.'
H E Jabri called on Tanzanian businessmen to benefit from the many business opportunities in the zone as these will enhance relations between both sides.
Dr Adelhelm Meru director general of the Export Processing Zone Authority of Tanzania expressed his joy over the visit to the sultanate and the opportunity to review its experience in developing special zones.
"We are developing a new economic zone and hope to benefit from the sultanate's experience in this field' Dr Meru added.
