Saudi, EDB, GIA sign MoU to develop testing laboratory

(MENAFN) Saudi Ministry of Industry and Commerce, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) and GIA (Gemological Institute of America), the world's major gemological research organization, according to Arab News. The memorandum aims to improve the state's gemstone and pearl testing laboratory (GPTLB) to a high-class facility for research into the production of natural pearls. Each party will be responsible for protecting and enhancing Bahrain's pearling industry as part of the deal.
