UAE- 2 rescued, 1 missing off Al Khan beach

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  Two men narrowly escaped drowning while another is still missing and presumed drowned after a beach trip turned tragic in Sharjah. A Pakistani national and a Palestinian national were both rescued by the police at Al Khan beach after receiving a call from a beach-goer at 5.15pm on Saturday, according to a police source. The police rescue team and coast guards rushed to the site near Iywan Hotel, and managed to rescue two of the men. The Sharjah Police said most drowning cases took place as workers who headed to the beaches at the weekend ignored safety instructions and sign boards warning against swimming in prohibited areas.
