Saudi Petroleum Minister Meets Libyan Oil Minister


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi met here today with Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas Dr. Abdul-Bari Al-Aroussi. At the outset of the meeting, Minister Al-Naimi spoke about the importance of petroleum relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Libya, as two major oil producers, and that they have the same approach to strengthen their petroleum industry and its independence, as well as they are seeking for the stability of the international oil market, through their memberships in some international organizations, such as the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC). He added, 'There are various areas for cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of oil, both in terms of international coordination, or in terms of the exchange of experiences and expertise in the petroleum industry.' For his part, The Libyan Minister praised Saudi experiences in the development of its petroleum industry, which is an example of the pioneering oil industries in the world, noting that Libya is seeking to take advantage of these experiences, both in terms of the organization, or in terms of the development of national human resources. He added that Libya is seeking cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all fields and at various levels. The meeting was attended by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for Petroleum Affairs; Prince Faisal bin Turki bin Abdulaziz, Adviser of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; and a number of senior officials at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
