Al Ahly thrash Township Rollers

Alexandria, Dhu-AlQa'dah 05, 1439, July 18, 2018, SPA -- In Borg El Arab Stadium in Egypt on Tuesday, Walid Azaro, Ali Maaloul, and Islam Moharb gave Al Ahly a 3-0 win over Township Rollers to record their side's first victory in the CAF Champions League group stages.
The Egyptian side gave their utmost effort to break Township Rollers' defense, and the two most crucial chances came from veteran Walid Soliman yet one of them was saved and the other went inches from the bar.
Before the first half whistle, a shrewd pass from Junior Ajayi found Azaro, who sent a bullet strike past Mwampole Masule granting Al Ahly the lead.
The Red Castle continued to dominate in the second half, and Momen Zakaria had a golden opportunity to double the lead as the goal was empty yet he couldn't slot in.
With less than 25 minutes left, the Botswanan team started to cause threat, however, they were met with masterclass defending and quick counters in which one of them ended in a penalty for the home team, after Mido Gaber was brought down by the opposition's defense.
Tunisian fullback Maaloul converted the ball from the spot to double Al Ahly's lead, before Islam Moharb's header made it three to secure a vital win ahead of the next three games in the CAF Champions League.
Al Ahly will travel to face Township at the Botswana National Stadium on July 27 for the return leg.
