(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Muscat Municipality has said that its slaughterhouses received about 11,144 animals for sacrifice during the Eid al Fitr holidays.
Six of them were discarded for being unfit for human consumption.
'The slaughterhouses were only open for individuals wanting to sacrifice while companies were asked to do so before Eid,' a municipality official said.
The municipality and the operating companies at the slaughterhouses had asked all 120 butchers to work during the Eid holidays to cater to the rush.
The slaughterhouses have now returned to their normal working hours after the holidays, operating from6am to 1pm.
