Leacock Retains VP Position At Party's 40th Convention


(MENAFNEditorial) After a bruising social media campaign, Zita Barnwell did not make the mark for the second time in her quest to become Vice President of the New Democratic Party.

Public pronouncements seemed to have favoured the young senator over party veteran St Clair Leacock.

At the party's 40th convention on Sunday 27th May 2018, a new Executive was elected to run the affairs of the party over the next two years.

Bernard Mills no longer serves as treasurer, while Margaret London was also removed from the position of Assistant General Secretary.

The Vice Presidents elected to serve are St Clair Leacock and Patel.

Lavern King was reelected as PRO
Daniel Cummings was returned as Chairman.
The party elected Glenford Stewart Deputy Chairman.
Horace Williams was elected the new Treasurer.
Doris Mc Intosh is now the new Assistant General Secretary.
