Khan won the encomium from Tendulkar after the Indian Premier League (IPL) qualifier between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday.
For the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rashid Khan hit a 10-ball 34 before bagging three crucial wickets. He also accounted for a run-out and held two catches in the final over.
After the Sunrisers clinched a 24-run triumph, Tendulkar tweeted: "Always felt @rashidkhan_19 was a good spinner but now I wouldn't hesitate in saying he is the best spinner in the world in this format. Mind you, he's got some batting skills as well. Great guy."
