UAE reveals federal government 2017 spending


(MENAFN) The UAE Ministry of Finance reported the federal government's spending to have stood at USD13.22 billion last year.

The federal government was shown in the report to have spent USD4.41 billion on the 'general public service' sector, an equivalent of 33.3 percent of total spending.

The figures found spending on public order and safety sector to have reached USD2.85 billion, or 21.5 percent, with both sectors accounting for 54.8 percent of the total expenditure.

It also revealed USD1.79 billion to have been spent on the education sector, with another USD902.2 million spent on social protection.
