Spain detains 10 after capturing 900 kilos of cocaine

(MENAFN) The Spanish Civil Guards declared that they have captured more than 900 kilos of cocaine, as well as detained 10 suspects amid an operation in the port city of Algeciras, in the south-west of the country.

The drug had "come from South-America hidden in a cargo of fruit", while Spanish Interior Minister Juan Ignacio Zoido described the mission as a "new blow to drug smuggling carried out by the Spanish security forces", according to a statement issued by a Civil Guard.

The Civil Guards confirmed: "they broke open the seals on the container to remove the drugs before the organization resealed the container with false tape,"

Two trucks and two semi-trailers have been taken as well in the mission, in addition to many communication materials.
