UK police investigate case of woman beaten to death


(MENAFN) A murder investigation has been launched after a woman, in her 40s, died of a "very severe physical attack" in Barnsley town centre.

Police have detained three suspects of the murder, after responding to reports of a woman's body discovered in a street.

Three women, ages of 45, 57 and 71, all from the town centre area, have been held, according to South Yorkshire police.

Detective Superintendent Phil Etheridge, heading the probes confirmed: "we are still in the early stages of this investigation which is now being treated as a murder inquiry."
