Iraq returns to its Arabism

(MENAFN- Arab Times) TWO years ago, it would have appeared true if one of the Mullah Regime leaders claimed that Iran controlled four Arab capitals. However, the elections in Iraq squashed the Iranian fantasies. In fact, it has put the Mullah regime in a confrontational test with its previous claim that its interference in the region is to defend the Shia Arabs.

This regime took the Shia Arabs as captives of its scheme by making them the Trojan horses in Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. They are in the form of 'Hezbollah' and are found in various Arab countries.

Today, the Iraqis have revealed their position on Persia. They firmly rejected its interference in their internal affairs. They also affirmed that they are Arabs by identity and affiliation — whether Shias or Sunnis. If the electoral turnout was more than the actual turnout, the billboards of Tehran's pawns would have fallen with a blast.

The mandate, which the Iraqi electorate gave to Muqtada Al-Sadr and Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi, is not just for enhancing the presence of their factions in the Parliament. Instead, part of it is a referendum on excluding those close to Iran from the political scene and returning Iraq to its Arab pod.

This is due to the fact that the major benefactor of this election — Al-Sadr — would not have received such number of representatives if he did not openly affirm his pan-Arabism and fiercely opposed Iranian practices in his country.

The same applies to Al-Abadi whose work is based on curbing the spread of sectarian militias and stopping the Persian infiltration in his country.

Today, Al-Abadi and Al-Sadr should work together to pull Iraq out of the tunnel of disarray. They should not yield to creedal and sectarian blackmail due to fear of the other compatriot partner.

Historically, Iraqis — Shias and Sunnis — were united single-heartedly and there was no place to accommodate sectarian voices. Nonetheless, errors committed by the United States of America from 2003 to 2011 left a crack that can be sealed; actually, it can be removed completely.

This Iraq, which fought against 'DAESH', is the same Iraq despite the different political nature of the regime that fought against Iran for eight years when Khomeini wanted to transform Basra, Najaf and Karbala into another southern area of Beirut (Dahieh), from which Tehran would control Baghdad and other regional capitals.

At the time, both the Shias and the Sunnis stood against Khomeini's scheme as they have stood against 'DAESH' which is the creation of Iran from 'A to Z', and operates wherever the Mullah regime points its finger to preoccupy its opponents and rivals.

The truth has prevailed in Iraq. Its people have expressed their true Arabic feelings and eagerness to return to their natural habitat after the demonic tree planted by Americans and Iranians ruptured social unity and made them forget the fact that the Sunnis and Shias in Iraq are pure Arabs.

The election results in Iraq, and before that in Lebanon, clearly showed the choices of the people. Arabs should invest in such choices to crush claims of Iran's dominance over Arab capitals, especially since Iran's gangs in Yemen have started to weaken. Their remnants in Syria have started to fall. Disappointments have befallen them in Iraq and Lebanon.
