Austrian ambassador: Qatar blockade causes human rights breaches

(MENAFN) Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported Austrian ambassador Willy Kempel to have suggested the blockade Qatar was hit with to have breached several human rights.

The statement was confirmed to have been made in a speech the ambassador made during a lecture delivered on human security with the organization of Qatar's Diplomatic Institute.

QNA reported that the envoy revealed Qatar's National Human Rights Committee to have sent documents to his embassy in relation to human rights violations that the Gulf crisis has resulted.

It comes after Qatar was slammed with a blockade last year from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt after the country was accused of supporting terrorism and meddling in internal affairs.
