IMF is ready to assist Ukraine in achieving success of reform efforts


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The International Monetary Fund and Ukraine discuss the steps necessary to complete the fourth review of the cooperation program.

The press service of the National Bank of Ukraine reports this following the meeting of the Ukrainian delegation led by NBU governor Yakiv Smoliy with First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund David Lipton during the Spring Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

"Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund discuss the steps necessary to complete the fourth review of the cooperation program during the Spring Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, which take place in Washington, D.C.," reads the statement.

As Lipton noted, Ukraine has made significant progress in stabilizing the economy and creating the potential for growth. The international situation is now favorable for reforms, so it is important not to waste time.

"We are ready to help Ukraine in achieving success of its reform efforts," the First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund said.

The conditions for the arrival of the IMF mission to Kyiv for further cooperation within the framework of the program are being finalized.
