Oldest man in the world dies at the age of 121


(MENAFN) A Chilean man, who was thought to be the oldest man in the world, has died while hospitalized at the age of 121.

Celino Villanueva Jaramillo has died in the southern Chilean town of San Jose de Mariquina.

The centenarian, who was born on 25 July 1896,hasn't been identified by Guinness, for the shortage of official verification of his date of birth, has fallen out of his bed and broke three ribs,one of them has left his lung pierced.

Doctors had high hopes that he would actually survive, following an emergency surgery and admitting him in intensive care.
