ALGERIAN MILITARY AIRCRAFT CRASHES BLIDA KILLING 257. The jet came down in farmland close to Boufarik airport near Algiers, Algeria on April 11, 2018. The crash, which occurred Wednesday morning in Boufarik, about 30 kilometres southwest of Algeris, killed 257 people, including ten crew members, according to a provisional toll report issued by the Ministry of National Defence. The Ilyushin aircraft of the Algerian Air Force, which had just taken off frm Boufarik enroute to Tindouf and Bchar in the south, crashed at 7:50 am near the Boufarik air force base on to an uninhabited agricultural land. Most of the victims of the tragic accident are members of the Peoples National Army (ANP) and members of their families, the Ministry added. Photo courtesy APZ
