Police posing as cleaners nail drug dealers in playground ambush
Police constables disguised as cleaners have smashed a gang of South Asian drug dealers who peddled cannabis in a public playground in Hong Kong's Yuen Long district.
Among the four arrested, three were asylum seekers with leave to remain in the city, while the other held a local ID card.
The daily<> Must-reads from across Asia - directly to your inboxOriental Daily reports that the men exercised caution when trading drugs: bags containing cannabis were carefully tucked away in nearby bushes and would only be retrieved when a buyer approached and made payment. One gang member was always placed on the lookout for the police.
Constables from the Yuen Long Police Station watched the gang over three days before seizing some ten bags of cannabis buds worth HK$5,000 (US$637).
Investigation are still underway and more arrests may be made.
