Captain Ishtiaque elected Regional EVP of IFALPA


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka : Captain Ishtiaque Hossain, a Commander of Boeing 777 in Biman Bangladesh Airlines has been elected as the Executive Vice President of International Federation of Airline Pilots Association ( IFALPA ) for Asia Pacific Region . He becomes the first airline pilot from the sub-continent to get this honor. Istiaque served as the Regional Vice-President Asia/West for three consecutive terms before being elected to the new position.

At the 72nd Annual Conference of IFALPA, held in Montreal, Canada on 06 May 2017 he got elected through direct voting. The Annual Conference was attended by 550 delegates from all over the world.

As the first Bangladeshi ,Ishtiaque Hossain is a full member of 'International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI), a US based organisation, specifically created for the air safety investigators and/or the aircraft accident prevention professionals of the world. He is one of the pioneer airline pilots from Bangladesh to have international accreditation as an Aircraft Accident Investigator (AAI).
