Albania:mayor,eleven officials detained over fraud
(MENAFN) Albanian mayor along with another 11 officials have been detained for an illegal trade of a beach area in the one of a kind process,according to prosecutors.
The mayor of Lezhe in northwestern Albania,Fran Frrokaj,as well as 11 other officials were reportedly charged with misusing their positions,and fabricating documents.
They've claimed responsibility for making fabricated files in order to sell 300,000 square meters of public land at representative prices to fictional owners.
Such places near coast are usually sold for development on very high prices to process vocational places for tourists.
