Etihad Airways and Uae National Special Olympics Team Welcome Kuwait Special Olympics Team to Abu Dhabi


(MENAFNEditorial) Abu Dhabi, UAE,March 15, 2018:Etihad Airways and the UAE Special Olympics team last night welcomed the Kuwait Special Olympics team and supporters at Abu Dhabi Airport. Etihad had provided the Kuwait team with flights as a symbol of support to the UAE's sister country.

The Kuwaiti delegation of 84 visitors includes 54 athletes representing seven sporting disciplines.

In addition to athletes, the airline flew Kuwait's equipment, coaches, dignitaries and the media for the occasion.

Etihad is supported by Hala Abu Dhabi, who are providing tours & excursions to visitors attending the event

Key facts about the Special Olympics:

  • The Special Olympics IX MENA Games 2018 take place in Abu Dhabi between 14 and 22 March 2018.
  • More than 1,000 athletes from 33 countries will be competing in 17 different sports.
  • The Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 will bring more than 7,000 athletes from 170 nations to Abu Dhabi, from 22 different disciplines
  • Abu Dhabi will become the first city in the Middle East to host the event
