More than 3,000 Syrians leave Ghouta to govt lines: Observatory


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) BEIRUT: More than 3,000 civilians fled the eastern Ghouta town of Hammouriyeh into territory held by the Syrian government as the army advanced on Thursday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Observatory Director Rami Abdulrahman said it was the biggest group of people to flee the besieged rebel enclave since government forces launched an offensive to recapture it last month.
