Kuwait's embassies in Tanzania, Senegal, Nigeria mark Nat'l Days


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 23 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's embassies in Tanzania, Senegal and Nigeria have marked on Friday the country's 57th National Day and 27th Liberation Day, and the 12th anniversary of His Highness Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's ascendance to power.

In Tanzania, the Kuwaiti embassy held a reception attended by Tanzanian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Susan Kolimba, ex-Prime Minister Salim Salim, and a number of senior officials and heads of diplomatic missions, in addition to academic, economic, and media figures.

For his part, Ambassador Jasem Al-Najem congratulated, in his speech, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti government and people on the national occasion.

Al-Najem also wished the Kuwaiti-Tanzanian relationship further progress and development under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir and President John Magufuli.

For her part, Kolimba extended, in her speech, her sincere congratulations to His Highness the Amir, the Kuwaiti government and people on the National and Liberation Days, expressing her joy in representing her country at the ceremony.

She also praised Kuwait's pioneering role in backing development projects in Tanzania through Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).

The Tanzanian senior official also congratulated Kuwait on the success of the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq (KICRI), which Kuwait hosted between February 12 to 14, affirming the GCC-member country's significant humanitarian role through its humanitarian initiative that earned it the UN's recognition as a global "Humanitarian Center" and His Highness the Amir as "Humanitarian Leader." Meanwhile, the embassy displayed, on the sidelines of the ceremony, a number of art paintings by Kuwaiti artists of special needs, and presented commemorative gifts to Kolimba and a number of Tanzanian officials.

In Senegal, the Kuwaiti embassy held a reception attended by a number of Senegalese senior officials, including Justice Minister, in addition to heads of diplomatic missions and businessmen.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Saleh Al-Saqabi congratulated His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, Kuwaiti government and people on the joyous occasion, wishing the country perpetual progress, development, and prosperity.

Al-Saqabi also thanked Senegalese Justice Minister and all attendees and invitees for taking part in the ceremony, lauding the current state of Kuwaiti-Senegalese relationship and pointed out its notable development on all levels.

In Nigeria, the Kuwaiti embassy held a ceremony attended by a number of Nigerian senior officials, states' governors, heads of diplomatic missions, and businessmen.

In the ceremony, Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Sharrah congratulated, in his speech, His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince on the national occasion, wishing them long lasting good health and wellness, and further progress and prosperity for the Kuwaiti people.

Al-Sharrah also welcomed the ceremony's guests and lauded the Kuwaiti-Nigerian relationship, noting that it is witnessing a significant development on all levels and fields.

He also wished the Kuwaiti and Nigerian people further security and prosperity, and affirmed the embassy's keenness on boosting its efforts toward backing joint Kuwaiti-Nigerian cooperation to attain their desired ambitions. (Pick up previous) ma
