Uber leaves Morocco amid tensions
(MENAFN) As Morocco failed to reform its strict transportation rules, Uber, ride-hailing app, made the decision of pulling out from the North African country.
Despite currently having 19,000 users in the country and over 300 drivers, Uber has been operating illegally in Morocco for nearly three years.
"As long as there is no real reform ... we are forced to suspend our operations," Uber said in a statement.
Uber drivers have often been targets of intimidation.
