Turkey's population may reach 100 million people

During the next 22 years, Turkey's population may grow to 100 million people, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a message Feb. 21.

It is expected that by the end of 2023, the population of Turkey will exceed 86.907 million people.

'It is expected that in 2023, the population of Istanbul will be 16.3 million people, Ankara - 6.1 million people, and Izmir - 4.6 million people,' the message said.

In 2017, Turkey's population reached 80.8 million people.

According to statistics, males account for 50.2 percent, and females - for 49.8 percent of Turkey's population.
