Azerbaijan to have 1000 cameras installed for presidential election

As many as 1,000 web cameras will be installed for the presidential election in Azerbaijan on April 11, said Zeynal Nagdaliyev, chief of the department on work with regional management bodies and local self-management bodies at Azerbaijan's Presidential Administration.
'The web cameras will be installed so that everyone can watch the election live and register shortcomings,' he said.
He stressed that the chairpersons of Constituency Election Commissions play a great role in holding the election at a high level.
'Our main task is to keep and improve Azerbaijan's image by holding democratic and transparent election, to make the election more organized based on previous experience,' he added.
Next presidential election in Azerbaijan is to be held on April 11, 2018, according to an order signed Feb. 5 by the country's President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the Calendar Plan of Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission (CEC), pre-election campaigning starts 23 days prior to the voting day and is stopped 24 hours before the start of voting. Thus, the campaigning will start on March 19 and end at 08:00 (local time) on April 10.
