China calls for 'vulgar' quiz apps to be halted
(MENAFN) China has demanded for trendy quiz apps on the internet to be prevented over its content.
Several quizzes were seen by the Chinese media and publication regulator to be containing "vulgar and tawdry" materials.
The regulator also urged firms to refrain from encouraging extravagance or sensationalism, and work to promote "healthy, beneficial knowledge" instead.
Over two major apps have already declared their quizzes to have been closed down for a brief period of time.
