(MENAFN- Arab Times) Law needed to hold MPs accountable: Al-Qahtani

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 6: 'MPs have betrayed the people due to which there should be a law to hold them accountable', reports Al-Shahed daily quoting political activist Anwaar Al-Qahtani. She expressed her desire to be a Member of Parliament so that she can contribute in seeking a vote of no-confidence against the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al- Sabeeh even if it would be the umpteenth time the minister faced vote of no-confidence.

Al-Qahtani explained that the honorable minister is the one responsible for the current situation in the ministry and cooperative societies as well as what has been happening to the disabled. The matter has reached the extent that the disabled are unable to get their rights except with appeals.

This alone suffices holding Minister Al-Sabeeh accountable. She said her objective is to leave her mark and legacy in fighting and combating corruption and 'telling it like it is without fear and favoritism'. Al-Qahtani lamented that the silence of the majority amid rampant corruption has been destroying the country.

She criticized Honorable MP Safaa Al-Hashim for doing nothing for women since her entry in the National Assembly. 'She has contributed nothing in terms of women's rights. Even her war against expatriates came without any studies except for her use of loud political voice', Al-Qahtani said.
