YouTube apologizes for grave error in Polish PM speech translation
(MENAFN) Polish Press Agency reported YouTube to have expressed its regret over a grave mistake in translating the words of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, inaccurately translating that Nazi German death camps "were Polish".
The speech where the error took place actually said "the camps in which millions of Jews were murdered were not Polish. That truth must be protected because it is part of the truth of the Holocaust."
However, the automatic translation software of the online video sharing service inaccurately conveyed the sentence as "camps where millions of Jews were murdered were Polish."
In an email, YouTube's press representative Adam Malczak explained "the mistake was caused by automatic translation on YouTube, for which we apologise."
