Qatar will not hesitate to support Unesco principles

Doha: Qatar will not hesitate to support education, culture and Unesco's noble principles throughout the world through effective programs such as 'Edcuate A Child which has so far educated millions of children in the world, said H E Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kawari, Minister of State.
He was addressing after receiving a Diplomatic Medal of Merit from El Salvador which was presented to him for his services by El Salvador's Foreign Minister Hugo Martinez last night at Al Kawari's residence.
'Your Excellency Minister Hugo Martinez,Excellencies Ambassadors of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (SELAC), State of Kuwait and Oman. I would like to express my great pleasure in visiting Hugo Martinez, Foreign Minister El Salvador to the State of Qatar and his meeting with the Qatari leadership, he said.
He added that he is confident that this visit constitutes an important milestone in the relations between the countries of Central America, South America and the State of Qatar in general, said in his speech during the honoring ceremony.
'The visit's program reflects the importance of the visit to my country where the leadership attaches great value to these relations. On the occasion of your visit, I would like stress the importance of communication between officials of the two countries and exchanging visits and exploring ways of developing relations in various fields, he said.
'I also believe in the importance of intercultural communication, therefore I propose that a cultural year between the State of Qatar and the Jarolak Group be to enhance ties at all levels, he added.
He said that he is proud and honoured to receive this medal from, Minister Martinez.
'I highly value this medal and its important status and this honouring will be an effective catalyst for further engagement in the service of relations between the State of Qatar and the Central American States in general and Qatar and the Republic of El Salvador in particular, he said.
'I consider this medal to be a tribute to the leadership and people of Qatar. When I was nominated for Unesco, El Salvador was the first country I visited in the region because El Salvador was aware of the constructive role being played by the State of Qatar in education, culture, and science, and plans I have to service Unesco's noble goals, he added.
He said El Salvador did not hesitate to support his candidacy from the beginning to the end with the support of the Central American and Caribbean States (the Gerolac Group).
'Despite the attempts of sabotage after the unjust siege imposed on my country, El Salvador continued to support us and was a major factor in our results during the five sessions, he said.
'I affirm that the leadership of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani appreciates the support of the Caribbean countries, Central America, South Asia and a number of African countries during these elections, he added.
The visit of H H the Emir to a number of African countries recently and signing of agreements with them is the only evidence of Qatar's appreciation for these countries and its keenness to develop relations with these states in the political, economic and cultural fields, he added.
'It was my last visit to your country in January 2017. I met President Salvador Sánchez Cerino and attended the 25th anniversary of the achievement of peace in your country, which has become a solid base for sustainable development, constructive relations with the world and a model, he added.
'In this visit, I have witnessed the efforts made at all levels to build El Salvador and have touched the spirit of peace in your people and keenness to uphold it and create a model for its stability and building, he added.
