Pakistan- Four soldiers martyred after Indian troops' unprovoked firing on LoC

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) RAWALPINDI: At least four Pakistan Army soldiers on Monday embraced martyrdom during cross-border firing with Indian soldiers on the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, said Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR said that the troops were fired upon and hit by a heavy mortar round when they were busy in line communication maintenance in Jandrot and Kotli sectors of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Exchange of fire killed three Indian soldiers while few were injured.

Pakistan has repeatedly condemned increasing ceasefire violations by Indian forces due to which several civilians and soldiers have lost their lives.

Islamabad has been urging New Delhi to respect the 2003 ceasefire arrangement, investigate the incidents of ceasefire violations, instruct Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC. However, the violation of the truce has still been continuing.
