Pakistan- Khuli Kachehri held to address women's issues

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) DI KHAN, 15 December: To address issues pertaining to womenfolk, the district administration on Friday held khuli kachehri (open court) here at the district assembly hall.

Deputy Commission Nauman Afzal Afridi, local government representatives, elders of the area and other officials were present on the occasion.

Large number of women put up their grievances regarding education, health, social welfare and other sectors.

The district administration heard the grievances of the complainants and assured to take measures to address them.

A woman while talking to TNN appreciated the initiative of the local administration and urged that such forums should be organized on regular basis so that public could present their complaints to the concerned quarters.

'We do not have a degree college for women in our areas. Girls, after completing higher secondary education, usually travel faraway and most of the time, they quit education because they could not afford transport fares. So, we requested the deputy commissioner establish a college for girls in the nearby village,' the woman informed.
