Average monthly salary increases by 6pct

The number of hired workers as of November 1, 2017 amounted to 1.517 million people, 878,100 people of which are employed in the public sector, 639,700 people-in the private sector.

The State Statistics Committee reported that out of the total number of employees, 21.8 percent are engaged in education, 19.2 percent-in trade, vehicle repair, 12.9 percent-in industry, 8.6 percent-in health and social services, 7.1 percent-in public administration and defense, social security, 6.6 percent-in construction, 4.7 percent- in transport and storage, 3.4 percent-professional, scientific and technical activities, 3.2 percent-in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 1.6 percent-finance and insurance, and 10.9 percent-in other sectors.

The average monthly nominal wage of hired workers in Azerbaijan increased by 6.4 percent year on year in January-October to 525.4 manats ($309).

The highest average monthly nominal wage was recorded in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, construction, information and communication, professional, scientific and technical activities.

The number of hired workers as of November 1, 2016 amounted to 1.513 million people, 888,400 people of which were employed in the public sector, 625,300 people-in the private sector.

The average monthly nominal wage of hired workers in Azerbaijan was 493.8 manats ($290) in January-October 2016.
