(MENAFN- Gulf Times) His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received a written message from His Highness the Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, containing an invitation to HH the Emir to participate in the 38th session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States (GCC), scheduled to be held in Kuwait City during the period from December 5 to 6.

The message was handed over by HE Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the State of Qatar Hafeez Mohammed Salem Al Ajmi when His Highness the Emir met him at Al Bahr Palace on Thursday.

In addition to Qatar and Kuwait, the GCC comprises Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Oman.

In June, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt severed diplomatic, trade and transportation links with Qatar.

The row is one of the most serious experienced by the GCC since it was created in 1981.
