UK: increase in worth of money collected by councils from parking fees
(MENAFN) Based on a recent study conducted by The RAC Foundation, during 2016-2017, English councils collected from parking fees, such as parking charges up to 819m Pound, a 10 percent increase on the past year.
The foundation urged drivers to inquire their council about money spending, as surpluses of parking charges are said by the Local Government Association to be spent on "essential transport projects."
Compared with 2015-2016 when the surplus was 744m Pound, this year the English local authorities obtained an income of up to 6 percent while costs increased to 2 percent. It was also said that London received several of the highest totals with the largest in Westminster of a surplus that reached 73.2m Pound.
