FBI refrain in notifying US officials of being hack targets
(MENAFN) US government officials were apparently not notified by the FBI that Russian hackers were trying to violate their private emails.
For a year, the bureau had proof of the officials being targets of a Kremlin-linked cyber hacking entity known as Fancy Bear, according to an investigation conducted by The Associated Press.
The Association Press received a statement by the FBI which said "the FBI routinely notifies individuals and organizations of potential threat information."
